Have Lake Julia, Briggs Lake and Rush Lake surveyed in the early spring for Curly Leaf Pondweed. Schedule a late Summer Heritage Survey to look for Eurasian Milfoil or other invasive species. Both surveys are working with Freshwater Scientific Service.

2. Work with PLM Lake and Land Management Corp. to treat Curley Pond Weed with Flumioxazin in the delineated areas.

3. Work with Carp Solutions to completed a carp management evaluation and removal plan. In July work obtain funding thru the SWCD to facilitate a larger carp removal project on all three lakes.

4. Maintain the water level monitoring equipment to record the water level and temperature on Elk Lake and Briggs Lake. These measurements provide a record to compare against as watershed changes in the future may impact the stability of our lake’s water levels.

5. Fund and obtain grants to facilitate a removal day with Waterfront Restoration in Bayou area of Briggs Lake in August 2026. Promote education and information about Purple Loosestrife growing around the Briggs Lake bayou.

6. Work with the Sherburne Soil and Water Conservations District to apply for BWSR funding for an Alum treatment on Briggs Lake. The grant application process for this funding is currently in the process of revision.

7. Work with the BLCA to fund inspectors at the public accesses. This is coordinated by the County’s Water Guard program and prevents the spread of invasive species within Minnesota through boater education, watercraft inspections and watercraft decontaminations.

8. Facilitate a discussion group with the BLCA, wake boat users, marine industry vendors and concerned residents. With everyone’s involvement, put together local information for the best practices on wake boat use on our lakes.

9. Promote education and information about lake management. Obtain grants to facilitate interested board members and active community members to attend the U of M Extension programs in 2026.

10. Partner with the BLCA to improve water quality and the health of lakes by using available grants and cost-effective practices to provide the most value to the property owners.

Monthly Meeting
1st Monday of Each Month 6:00pm
Palmer Township Hall

2025-2026 Directors

Chair: Bob Sass;
